Where is your shop and when is it open?
Our shop is at 121 Devonshire Street, Sheffield, S3 7SB. We're open Monday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 5pm. We've been an independent clothing store in Sheffield since 1992, and we also sell online.
What do you sell?
Our own designs from The Alternative Brand, including 0114, Steel City and the People's Republic of South Yorkshire, on T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies in men's, women's and unisex fits. We also sell brands such as Dickies.
Where else can I buy The Alternative Brand?
Nowhere else, for now. Our Sheffield shop and this website are the only places that sell our own brand.
How do your clothes fit?
Our clothing is unisex, with no separate men's and women's sizing. Fit varies by style, from classic regular to relaxed and oversized boxy fits, so each product page has its own fit note and sizing tip. Some styles run slightly small, and the product page will tell you when to size up. If you're unsure, email enquiries@thealternativestore.co.uk or try things on in the shop.
How does the Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer work?
Most of our products are included, and the ones that are say so on their product pages. Add three included products to your basket and the cheapest one is free at checkout.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are processed and shipped within 1–5 working days. UK standard delivery typically takes 2–5 days, and fast delivery 1–2 working days. You can choose your delivery option at checkout.
Can I collect my order from the shop?
Yes. Choose pickup in store at checkout and collect your order from our shop at 121 Devonshire Street, Sheffield, during opening hours.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, we ship worldwide, including Europe and the USA, with tracked delivery. Orders to Europe typically arrive in 4–15 days, and to the USA and the rest of the world in 5–15 days. Please add your phone number to international orders, as couriers often need it.
Can I check on my order?
Yes. Email enquiries@thealternativestore.co.uk with your order number and we'll let you know how it's going.
What is your returns policy?
You have 30 days after ordering to request a return. Items must be unworn and unused, with tags, in their original packaging, and you'll need your receipt or proof of purchase. Email enquiries@thealternativestore.co.uk to start a return and we'll send you a returns label and instructions. Items sent back without a return request first can't be accepted.
Can I return sale items or gift cards?
No. We can't accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Can I exchange an item?
The quickest way is to return the item you have and, once the return is accepted, place a new order for the item you want. For help with an exchange, email enquiries@thealternativestore.co.uk.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
Please check your order when it arrives and email enquiries@thealternativestore.co.uk straight away if anything is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, so we can put it right.
How do refunds work?
Once we've received and checked your return, we'll let you know whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method automatically. Your bank or card provider may take a little time to process it.
